The trek starts from proper Pahalgam, and takes the Baisaran trail up the mountain. Depending upon the situation one can pony ride uphill to Biasaran which is a huge meadow in the middle of a coniferous forest surrounded by mountain peaks.
The trek starts from Ganeshbal (2141 m) about 2 km downstream from Pahalgam bazar. Take the lane beside the Mosque which enters towards the mountains the trail then crosses the village towards the open fields to enter the rough road up to the coniferous forests above the village along the stream. Continue moving up the forest trail until the grassy clearing and shepherd settlement of Dayan Is reached.
The trek starts with a gentle climb of about 250 mts in 5 km from Aharbal to Kungwatan. It follows the right bank and continues up to a bridge which has to be crossed to the left bank of the river.

The route towards Kolahoi passes through Satlanjan which is about 2-3 hours walk upstream from Lidderwat, its prudent to camp overnight at this place, if one is proceeding on this route. The next stage to the Kolahai can be done the following morning which ends directly below the glacial terminus.
PahalgamKoonag Lake Trek..The trek starts from Chandanwari (2849 m) located around 16 km upstream from Pahalgam along the Amarnathyatra route.
The trek starts from the last motorable village called Ahlan. Ahlan can be reached from Srinagar in 3 hours covering 95 kms by car and from the Jammu side via Qazigund. It is advisable to get all your provisions and trek equipment before you reach Ahlan as it would be difficult to procure the trekking essentials there. The trail to Mawarnaglake 1 is approximately 10 kms and takes almost 6 hrs, it follows the stream on the right flank of the mountain until the 2nd confluence of the Alyimbrari and Mawarnag streams is reached. The trail continues to the lake if you take the stram on the right side and alternatively a bridge can be crossed to take the alternate route to the lake below the Bahak of Alyimbrari.
Mahadev Trek:The Mahadev trek is one of the most vivid in terms of altitude and flora fauna, this is a popular trekking route with an option to climb the Mahadec peak. The trek can be done in two days however 3 days is recommended to enjoy the area properly and relieve the stress of the climb to the unacclimatised trekker. It is to be noted that the upper parts of this trail are snow bound up till June and climbing the peak may require specialised equipment when this snow bound.
Dumb GaliNishat Trek: This is the shortest yet one of the prettiest trail of all. It explores the area behind Nishat Garden on the banks of the Dal Lake. The view of the lake with the mountain in the background is something which will linger in your memory for a very long time. Both up and down the mountain is less than 8 km.
Dara Hayan Trek: The trek traverses to the Sind valley but follows a more easterly trail which is on the right side of the Burzakut peak. This trek can also be done in a day but has to be started early in the day.
